How to Adopt

Our adoption process is designed to ensure the best match between dogs and families.

The Adoption Process

Applicants must be at least 18 years old. The process can take up to 4 weeks from start to finish, with the primary delay being scheduling the home visit.

1
Submit Your Application

Complete the adoption application form with information about your household, pet history, and living situation.

2
Veterinary Check

A volunteer contacts your veterinarian to confirm all household pets are current on vaccinations and preventatives.

3
Phone Interview

An adoption coordinator schedules a phone interview to discuss your experience, lifestyle, and expectations.

4
Home Visit

A volunteer visits your home to ensure it's a safe and suitable environment. All household members and pets should be present.

5
Approval & Match

Approved adopters are matched with a dog and receive a two-week trial period to ensure a good fit.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a fenced yard?

A fenced yard is not required, but you must have adequate space for exercise. Electronic/invisible fences are not accepted.

Do all family members need to be present?

Yes, all household members and pets must attend the meet-and-greet. This helps us ensure compatibility for everyone.

What if the adoption doesn't work out?

Returns are accepted during the two-week trial period. Dogs must be returned to the rescue — they cannot be rehomed independently.

Are the dogs purebred?

We cannot guarantee the pedigree of any dog. Dogs are selected based on temperament, not solely on their looks.
